Covid cancels out spring black bear

Season finds two Canadian hunters collecting huge bruins

With the Canada/US border being closed since March 21, our hope faded as the border closure continues to be extended month by month. Regardless, we ran our baits in order to condition bears to the baits, and what a year to lose. Bears were simply crazy at the baits, as I could hardly pull into a single site without bears coming in immediately. The only assumption I could make is that due to our huge early October blizzard, that bears went to hibernation premature, and that made for some very hungry bears. The only saving grace to the whole spring season was having two Canadian residents make the trip where both would see the best of the best and collect huge boars in short order.

This massive boar would make his final mistake for the last time.

This huge boar continues to show up at same bait annually and then disappears.
We will work hard to put time in early season 2021 to collect this great bear.

This bait alone, I would have five bears, two of which were shooters within 10 yards of me.
Bear action was just insane for this spring.

Hands down the largest bear seen on the camera was this 400 pound plus boar that would work between two baits.
